Choose growing medium for Sato orchid
When choosing a substrate to grow Sato orchids, it is important to choose a substrate that is airy, retains moisture well but is not easily waterlogged. Specifically as follows:
- Mix rice husks, coffee husks, crushed charcoal, decomposed manure or earthworms.
- Before mixing, the entire substrate must be treated by soaking in diluted lime water or spraying with Trichoderma fungus to disinfect and kill pathogens.
- Use terracotta pots or plastic pots specifically for growing orchids with large drainage holes. Do not use pots that are too large as this can cause waterlogging of the roots. Use pots that are just a little larger than the orchid bush.
